We have an older mixed-breed dog, and one day she suddenly started having trouble using her back legs. After comparing different back braces, we decided to try this one because the reviews looked good and the design seemed supportive. After checking the size guide carefully, the brace fit her well. It is not bulky or too heavy, which is important because she can still wear it comfortably during warmer days. The fit was perfect for Shiloh, my wiener dog, but she was definitely unsure about the leg straps. They are adjustable, and I was able to get the fit right, but she still needed time to get used to them. I’d recommend introducing it slowly, maybe using it for short walks at first. It feels very stable, is well made, and the price is fair for the quality. The only spots that may rub a little are around the leg straps.

Luckily, we do not need to use this brace right now, but it gives me peace of mind knowing we have it ready if our dog ever needs extra support. Anyone with a dachshund knows how stressful it can be when they suddenly jump off the couch or bed, even when you have stairs, ramps, or other precautions in place. The brace is adjustable around the chest, neck area, and midsection, so it can be fitted pretty well. It also has straps around the back legs to help keep everything in place. At first, our dog walked a little awkwardly in it, which is expected, but the brace did help keep his back straighter and more supported. One of our dachshunds sometimes arches his back, and this brace helped him stay more aligned. It may not be something he enjoys wearing, but it does what it is designed to do.

I was heartbroken when my sweet girl was diagnosed with lower back problems. Surgery with a specialist was not something I could afford, so I wanted to do everything possible to support her at home. She is doing much better now than she was when we first went to the vet. At her follow-up visit, the vet even said the brace seemed to be helping. It also seems to remind her not to jump up on furniture as much, although she still tries to jump down sometimes.
